i get some thunking noise from the whiteline swaybar when WOT in 1st + 2nd, & sometimes over small bumps in the road or during cornering. does that mean mine needs greasing?
Tighten the end links - I don't think this is the bushes.
Personally, I've always thought that 22 mm was too stiff a rear sway for a road-driven Euro anyhow.
Obviously it will depend on the type of metal used, but if you actually read Whiteline's information in the front of their PDF catalogue, they say that every mm DOUBLES the stiffness.
That means (in theory) that their 18 mm RSB is 4 times as stiff as the stock one! Imagine how stiff the 22 mm would be! I'm not the least bit surprised to see that it ripped the mount!
You have to have some flex in your suspension for it to do its job properly. Unless you're on a super-smooth race-track, suspension that's too stiff will cause the car to lose grip faster than a softer set-up (which is great if you're drifting, but lousy if you really want to corner fast and keep going!).

Going from 14mm to 22mm increases the stiffness by 510%, 5 times.
I don't think anyone here has the 22mm RSB(correct me if i'm wrong).I had the option of going thicker on mine if i wanted to but it was recommended to me to go 18mm.I,m glad i went 18mm.
Just checked the car, my Whiteline polyurethene bushes still looks oil and greasy... except for the usual dirt...
I was having a discussion with Aaron last night about reinforcing the mounting points.. I was thinking I weld a backing plate on the side (Where the stel is the thinnest) to stop the vertical forces breaking the mounts....

I'm using 22 mm RSB, mate and it's been a while (4 months and so ) and works just fine, I don't experience any problem with it. I love the stiffness and i'm using it everyday. Not to sure how that happen to guys in states
