    plug and play.

But you will need to get a Walbro 450HP fuel pump or you will starve the engine of fuel. The Mugen ECUs are quite thirsty! Then get the installers of the fuel pump to test the Fuel PSI. Have it set to about 50 and you're set.

O.. and say goodbye to Aircon.

    Yes you lose Aircon.

The Mugen N1 ECU is a OBD2 ECU and it does have the ability to learn just like any other OBD2 ECUs (like the one you have now)

*HONDATA FTW* oooh dont have a chipped ECU ohhh noooo... LOL jokes.

you might need to get out the timing gun also and check timing with the new ECU as some ECU's wickedly advance the ignition.. these JDM ECU's are tuned for 100RON fuel (Aust premium = 98RON) so you may even need to retard the ignition timing ever so slightly.

if you dont have a timing gun etc - go find the steepest hill you can and roll up it in 4th gear at about 60km/hr and then floor it and listen out for pinging. if it pings you need to retard the timing.

hmmm lets hope it doesnt ping...

    Dont make this confusing.
That may be true for some JDM ECUs but we're referring to the Mugen one.
For more technical advice, speak to Andrew @ RaceTorque.(Perth) They tuned and built my car with the Mugen ECU.

i'd walk west if the mugen ECU doesnt advance the ignition timing much more aggressively than stock ECU.

Remember i also had a bad O2 sensor which threw out a few ECU error codes Bede. So no need to walk anywhere...unless you want to give me a hug

RaceTorque had to reset the timing and as this was done over 2 years ago I cant honestly remember but here are the results I posted back then..

    Tuning Test results :
Ignition timing was 3-4degrees out (16).
fuel was too lean and now it fine with the installment of a 450HP Walbro fuel pump.
fuel is a tad rich at idle - low rpm -12-12.5 but at peak rpm its around 13.7.
    Injectors are fine.
    Mugen ECU is fine
Fuel pressure is fine and the rest is A ok
    yay !
