HI there all,

What is a better Flywheel for a turbo car?
LIGHTER or HEAVIER flywheel..
lighter flywheel i know that it give you faster rev coz low moment of inertia and heavier slower rev coz high moment of inertia..

I heard that Heavier flywheel is better for TURBO coz have high value of inertia instead of lighter flywheel..

can anybody confirm this?

Nope LIGHT is better ... think about it what is the drawback with turbo TURBO LAG and how do you get past turbo lag? Higher revs which gives your engine more exhaust heat which spins the turbo up and turbo starts working BETTER soooo..... You want the engine to rev as quickly as possible which it does with LIGHT flywheel.

Wrong I have found that you loose engine revs and boost too quick between gearchanges. stay with standard weight.

i found out .. that for drag reason .. is not good to have lightflywheel
but for track is good to us lightflywheel..

your car needs to have sufficient moment of inertia on the flys to get the car moving .. and in drag u want to move the car faster means heavier flywheels is better on drag .. coz have heavier weight which gives you more inertia

I would suggest you do a bit more reading of some of the other topics about lightened flywheels etc on this site and then reread what you just wrote.

nah nevermind .. i changed my flys any way lol ..
stock was 22lbs now is 8lbs
