Yeah But i thought we where talking about the best drop in filter for a stock intake box. I have a trust one. didn't notice much differance, maybe a little louder.

Oh yeah.. I missed that. LOL. The GruppeM sounds hectic for sure.
I have trust but it not much difference. I want a GruppeM Badly
gruppe m for dc5, fair enough, but for dc2 its just a heat shield over an exposed filter, it still uses the stock intake arm, so theres really not much diff in velocity, its not much different than your standard pod with a d.i.y heatshield apart from its carbon bling
don't go K&N, a friends brother used one, and had dirt sitting in bottom of cylinder. I have used trust, and Spoon, and now have a Mugen intake. Apparently they are the same... but I have measured the inlet/opening of the air filter, and the spoon one is slightly larger. If you remove the baffle resignator that sits in the guard, and run A/C piping from air box to guard with a drop in Spoon filter, it is great. Spoon air filters range from $190 - $225, and good A/C piping is a good $70-$100. You won't feel amazing amounts in power gain, tbh none or a tinyyyyy little bit, but the response gain is phenominal! If you want a good intake, MUGEN BABY! I never believed people when they said 7-15kW ATW, but WOW!
I have a Spoon air filter, and A/C piping for $250 if ne one is interested? I had only had it installed for 2800km's/4 months, so it's still as good as new.

and even if you do have 'dirt' sitting at the bottom of the cylinder, it would have burnt off during combustion....
