Actually I don't think they do unless you made a complaint about losing power. I believe in many new cars they don't look at the valve clearances, because if it is not done properly, it will make it worst instead.
When I first got my 10k service, the Honda dealer charged me $210 + my own oil. I feel they are ripping me off. I never take my car back to them ever since.
Valve clearance check is in the service manual. They also must check it in order to minimise free play for the vtec mechanism.
My dealer does all of it except pollen filter because I replaced my pollen filter already. If they ever tell me to change my clean pollen filter, I know they are trying to rip me off.
Oh, and in addition to wheel rotation, they also balance the wheels.
Your dealer must be an exception but I wonder how much they charge you for the service. I had 40k and 50k service by 2 different dealers and none of them changed the pollen filter. As a matter of fact when I question 1 of the dealers about whether the filter needs to be changed he has that dumb look on his face and ask me for the second time what type of filter it is. I didn't make a big deal out of it because they didn't charge me for it but that indicates to me how much priority they give to these type of thing.

Well, the service is $250, but I bring my own oil, so it comes up to $210. At least they didn't change it for you and pop on an additional $80 for it!
Just book mine for the 10k service.... Price is about 190, probably bringing my own oil, so not sure about the price.
No wash, or addition of any hanky panky stuffs...
I was told to take off approx.$38 if you bring your own oil.BTW i'm changing from using Castrol Edge 5W30 to Elf Excellium SM 5W30.supposed to be better than Castrol and only $10 more for 5ltrs.$55 instead of $45.
