    Red face Yokohama S-Drive , Hankook R-S2 or Bridgestone RE-001 ????

    hi OH guys,

I m going to buy a set of new tyres for my dc2r for daily drive use.

    I get quote for :

    1. Yokohama S-Drive (195/50/15) $149 each

    2. Hankook R-S2 (195/50/15) $200 each.

    3. Bridgestone RE-001 (195/50/15) $149 each

which 1 is worth to buy (compare with the price) ?

    Thanks for the opinions

    p/s : personally I would prefer Yokohama S-Drive , what do u think ?

    RE-001..

everyone has been rating these better than the S-Drives so far.. why don't you become another guinea pig for us...
the hankooks are apprently awesome but for $200 each, I'd think about something else...

by the way, aren't you after a 195/55R15? not the 195/50R15...
this also belongs in the "tyre recommondation thread" no?

If you want grip, grip and grip, RE001.

If you do many kms and need a longer wearing tyre, S.Drive.

I can't predict it as it differs with driving style and wheel alignment. But you can estimate the difference from the treadwear rating. RE001 is rated at 220, while the S.Drive at 300. So you can estimate the S.Drive in lasting about 67% longer than the RE001 in normal driving.

It grips alright and better than most other tyres. But the RE001 supposedly has better grip than the S.Drive.

where the heck did you guys get the quote of $125 for the RE001s? im being quoted $192 per tyre for 195/50R15 by the bridgestone guys at autosalon.
    Current Performance Modifications to ED6:
not telling, but it involves a semi-quad carb setup, and lots and lots of compression.

Call up a tyre shop and ask them.
