I see. Then your problem is the offset and width of your tyres/rim. On my friend's Euro, 8" width and +42 offset caused rubbing when lowered. So for your 8.5" and +42 offset, it is too wide even for stock height. Are you still able to exchange them for something with a more suitable offset?

    OFFSET!
    3 things you can do
Abuse them for not doing their job!
Get new rims with the right offset!
Shave inside the rim to the right offset!

best option is 1 and 3

rolling the guards whiles its a 4wd wont do nothing
rummbing might go away after you have lowered your car and you have rolled your guards

I was told max.offset +45 for Euro.I've got +48 on 17s,lowered approx.35mm and its a close fit.try and cut a deal with Ozzy(good luck) to swap for 18x7s or something like that. The other thing is that decent 20"rubber=$$$$
