					Euro aircond controls

After playing with it for sometime.... I still dont know how it works......

Usually switch it at auto climate control with circulate air on at 24 or want it to be colder 22 or 23, thats it.

I notice that sometimes the foot blower blow warm air, while the vents at the dash is cool air, so put to 23 or 22 then both also cold air.

Use the fan control (off auto), set at 24, no air at vents on dash, air at foot is warm, set to 23 or 22, no air at foot, but vents got cold air...

Never try with high tempreature yet....

Off air-cond, off the circulate air, got warm air come in. On the circulate air, no air come in. Never to try off the AC function yet.

Too many different variables to play with, but I suspect that the heater is at the foot blower area, thats why alwasy got hot air, either that or it is sucking hot air, but then I always use the circulate cabin air .

When it blows cold air, it comes out from the upper and foot vents. If it blows hot air, it comes out from the foot vents. That's it. You choose the temperature you want, and the climate control will cool or warm up your cabin to that temperature using the corresponding vents.

If you want hot air coming out from the upper vents, just press the vent button and you'll get it.

When you set the climate control temperature, it is to set the cabin temperature, not to set the temperature of the air coming out of the vents.

Yeap.. there is a tempreature sensor at the dash near the wiper stalk area...

If you set the fan, then the tempreature controls what? the tempreature of the air coming out?

if the fan is on manual mode, the auto light goes out and the climate control only controls the vents. temp is now in manual mode, just light a non-climate controlled car.

with all the rain we're getting here in syd, i set my temp to 23, ac off, and the fan/vents is/are controlled by the climate control

The dial is to set the temperature of the cabin. The fan buttons is just to set the fan speed. They are independent. If you set your climate control to 30º, and you expect it to blow hot air, it will still blow cold air if your cabin temperature is say 34ºC.

from the fully "Auto" mode, what happens when you press the "AC off" button?

does climate control still work (except that the air-cond will not draw power from the car to cool the air)?

for example, if you set the cabin temp to 24c, and the temp outside is 18c, will climate control maintain the internal temp at 24c? from my observation, the cabin feels a lot warmer when it is in "AC off" compared to "AC on" although it's 18c outside.

Yup, that's right. Even with A/C off, it will still try to blow cold air from the face vent and hot air from the foot vent, just that the air won't be bold anymore since the compressor doesn't work. If you want to override the climate control, you have to manually set both the vent and fan speed.

the sensor on the dash near the wipers isnt the temperature sensor!

thats the sunlight sensor, basically detects when the sun is shining and when in automatic mode it will cool more than when the sun isnt shining.

ie: when the sun is out you obviously want the cooler on because the suns rays are hot... but when the sun is behind a cloud, you dont wanna freeze, so it stops cooling so much...

The sensor we are talking about is just behind your left wiper control stalk. It's a little grill in the dash. But yeah, the sunlight sensor also works in conjunction with the CC.

The climate control was very erratic in my '04 Standard 5AT until the battery failed after two years. The change of battery must have reset the ECU because the A/C has worked well since.

BTW, I have been able to get hot air coming out of the driver's side central vent and cold air from the passenger's side central vent when in dual mode. I was most impressed as I'd thought the dual mode as a bit of wan*! A bit like having a non-smoking zone in a pub (they still allow smoking in pubs in Darwin - Yuk!)

							Just wondering....

When I on the air-cond with pressing the fan speed selector, set the fan to minimum, set the temp to 21. The AC is not show on the display. If I press the AC button, it will show AC-ON. Press again it will show AC-OFF. Press again it will show AC-ON

Whats the diff if the display is
1. AC not dispay (Auto???)
2. AC-On (compressor will work?? - to generate cool air)
3. AC-OFF (compressor not going to work??)
