    JDM EG Built B16a2 Turbo
Guys I bought this exact kit off ebay for my B series almost 2 yrs ago and its been running on my car since then. But i can tell you now anyone even thinking about buying this kit it will not be a Permanent thing. This kit will only help you start a turbo conversion along the way over the next two yrs you will need to replace parts. Finally after two yrs I have replaced everything, the only thing left i needed to change was Exhaust manifold and turbo which i will most probably complete This afternoon (gt28rs here we come)

If i was to do it all again. I would have bought this kit, sold the turbo online Brand new. straight away would have bought a GT28/GT28RS/GR2871R got a Exhaust shop to re weld + reinforce the xs manifold and it would have lasted 2 yrs without any problems.

Also few other things are... This inter cooler that comes with the kit in the pictures is too small, you think it will do the job but it wont.I had this cooler on my car and Intake air on this cooler gave me about 49 degree's average. i got my new one on now which u can see in the Avatar and it dropped it to 29 degree's average. Which is a Huge fekin drop...

Another thing the Blue Silicone Cooler connectors aren't as strong as they look when u first buy them. they deteriorate very easily.

As i have told people on here before i think this kit is great and isnt as bad as people think it is. When i bought my kit for 1300 delivered the only thing that didn't work straight off was the BOV as it was leaking otherwise everything worked great for almost 6 months. Deffinatly taught me heaps about turboin cars i can tell u that. But i think for reliability reasons and now that i have the cash i most probably would have gone for a Greddy kit or i would have put together a kit from scratch. Back then i had a few spare dollars and thought it was fun to put a turbo kit on my car but really over the last few yrs ive had alot of times the car has come off the road because of the STUPID EXHAUST MANIFOLD FAILING!! FFS sorry bit of a vent.

anyways if you need any help on this kit. PM me

Judging from what I can see, i agree that eventually most of the stuff will needed to be replaced eventually.

The Bov looks ridiculous and the T3/T4 turbo 0.40 spec may be too laggy.

Anyway I will use what come with the kit and replace them when they fall apart. As long as there is no safety issue.

I will definitely use branded piggy back computer and fuel regulator, and also constuct a mounting bracket to hold up the turbo and dump pipe to reduce stress on the manifold.

so far i have spent $1800 on this experimmental kit, the piggy back Apex AFC Neo and a Xforce high flow cat.

I expect to spend another $8K over time to get the power level up and keep it reliable. Not sure if this budget enough?

Right now i am very excited and can't wait to turbo my civic. Wish me luck.

Below are what are included in the kit. Have fun viewing.

RedVTI the mounting bracket your talking about doing wont work. Spoken to my welder and its actually not the stress of the turbo hanging of the manifold. its actually the size of the metal where all four ram horn pipes meet in the middle. The thickness is only 1.5mm where it should be 3.0mm. The ram horn pipes are 2mm and ive never had problems with them. the problems occur toward the bottom near the turbo flange either in the welding or in the actual metal. I made a chassis reenforcement in the beginning and it didnt make any difference. the best thing to do will be to buy a new 4 to 1 exhaust pipe (same as the one on there atm) but in 3.0mm cut the old turbo flange plate of the old one weld it onto the new one and weld the new 4 to 1 pipe onto the meeting joint of all four pipes. Soo pretty much just replace the 4 into 1 pipe from the 1.5mm to the 3mm. also where the waste gate comes out of the manifold that little pipe will need to be reinforced as the hang weight of the Gate will cause the 1.5mm pipe to crack.

Also make sure you dont use the Gaskets they give you...they only lasted me bout 3 months.

But honestly guys i don't know how much PSI these kits can take...i was only running 7psi and i had problems, my internals could run up to 24psi but i never took it that far because i was afraid of other things braking on the turbo kit..

Thanks for the advise buddy. At this stage I haven't put my hopes up yet so i am just going along so see what happens.

It seems all the kits which we received in OZ have different bits and pieces and we all need to make different adjustments. The problems which i am about to face will probably be different to yours.

I am glad to know we can share the experiences here.

Did you see how cheap it is to buy a turbo-ready civic in US? I make me want to cry. The money we spent doing it here will be enough to buy a 10sec civic/crx over there. Ahh........

Funny you said that. I have sold my s15 and bought a S13( i like 5 spd) and it is sitting in my garage. I just thought i would be more satisfying to do up a honda since there are already so many Nissan turbos in this country. If i put the budget on the S13 instead of the civic then it will reach 12sec with all the bolt-on available. But then where is the satisfication?? Isn't it why you still keep your honda?

Pics and spec info would help. I have been told 6-7psi is still good with stock injectors and pump.

Good for mate I am not in love yet because the parts are still sitting around

D16Y1 (SOHC VTec) + GReddy Stock kit (no intercooler on injectors or pump)

5psi stock Stock GReddy setup = huge difference IMO but can't wait for 7psi though once my intercooler missing bits arrive..

You don't need injectors or pump for 7psi so I'm told.. I know the stock pump is rated to something like 250HP anyway
