Being subjective about the looks of a car does not make it look better in the eyes of the general public.

its not a very ergonomic car

    -bad view
    -weird clutch
    -engine is too quiet
    -hood is too long
    -difficult to park

otherwise its a great car, i like it, but if i got 1, the first thing id do is a fat cat back exhaust, esp in manual, too friggin quiet

Check out TOV articles on R18a.. they compare it to the 7th gen engines. They show various improvements including the increase of the intake/induction sounds as rpm go higher.. they specifically did this as 7th gen critics complained about this sound (lack thereof) in the 7th gens.

I've been driving for enough years to be able to park a car. I can park a festieva, landcruiser and ss commie. And i've driven all three heaps. the civic wont be a prob.

I respect your pro 7th gen views. It's a good car.

Hood too long? I'm surprised to hear that but ok.

EDIT: not that induction sounds are the all important factor.. as yes even I realise the fd's are economy cars... yay... 6.5 ltr/100kms

my cars the only non oz/american car in the house..and i dont have trouble parking/driving them

my point was that compared to the 7th gen, the 8th gen is slightly harder to park

and wen i say long hood, i dont mean literally. because of the shape of the dash, and the angle of the windscreen, i feel im sitting alot further from the front in the fd than the es

yeah as i said, the sedan was a grandparents special

but the Vi hatch was great, vtec, more power, but a lil expensive hence why they droped it.
im not biased, i just tell it how it is.

Image wise 7th gen was a disaster, its the reason theres so many lancers running around.

Doesn't look any more exciting than last gen corolla. And with a weaker engine than last gen corolla... I can see why it didn't do so well.

lol, this turned into a 7th gen hate thread pretty quick thanks to the few people that tried to help me at least but i still dont understand why its illegal for a h22 to go in the car when my cars build date was dec 00 so that would make it a my01 and h22 were still released in 01, and to those that think thyre ugly cars i think they are nice cars i got a seires one thats lowered ona seat of 17s and the interior is half done i actually really like the cars because they are different

    Two issues:

    - yes you have to make sure the engine build date is after the car build date.
    - When increasing the engine displacement above 200cc there are bigger legal issues to face. 1.7 ltr => 2.2 (i assume thats wha tthe H22 is) is 500 cc.

I know if you did get the H22 you'd have to atleast upgrade your braking system and more than likely get it engineered.
