    another ek shocks on EG

    Hi,

I just want to know how safe it is to modify EG LCA to fit EK shocks. Has anyone here done this?
Let's say if I don't care that I won't be able to fit EG shocks again in the future, is it ok to modify them?

    thanks

    yeah,
the thing is I already have this set of shocks (front and rear) for EK. If it does not affect the safety I prefer use them instead of selling them and buy another set for EG. well I am going to use the front anyway

as above, it kind of unsafe to mod them. but its entireley upto you.

Front EK Shocks will fit on an EG no problems

Rear EK shocks will not fit the EG LCA as the bushes are too wide for the Fork.

U can shave em down so it fits, but u need to shave off atleast 1mm each side of the bushing.

You can't use EK rear LCA's as its longer then the EG LCA's

    thanks for the replies.
has anyone shaved the bushes before to make them fit? can anyone also confirm that this is unsafe?

Its safe, I've been tracking with this setup all year round.

The only difference between EG and EK rear shocks is the width of the Bushing at the U mount. Like it was mentioned earlier, you need to shave the bushing on the LCA.

can you buy EK LCA bushing and change the EG LCA bushing to suit instead of shaving/modifying the bushing?
