bumpstops dont make an actual difference, but yes you are an absolute fool not to use them, especially with expensive koni yellows.

the bumpstop stops the shock absorber from bottoming out when you go over huge bumps,so every time the shock would of bottomed out it smashes a little bit of the bumpstop away

kool kool, i'll PM benjamin about the bump stops and find some 15 inch rims somewhere cheap. Absolute cheapest new is $650 from jax, so i'll be looking for some used ones maybe - $400 bucks ifs possible or less even, hmmm maybe not lol. how about these on the http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84115 thread.

this is dodgy but you can add an extra bit of bump stop to the bump stop by cutting up another one and put it above your one to decrease a inch or so of wheel travel. it will make the ride rougher but will decrease wheel travel hopefully stopping it scrubbing. man you need some tools. easy to do yourself with guidance/instructions.

Looking at the pics it looks as though getting higher, stiffer springs would help. Kings are crap and sag heaps so the problem will get worse. I remember having Kings on my Lancer and you could see the difference in just putting fuel in it. The Koni's are good.
If money is tight maybe just get higher springs for the front now and rear later.
Make sure you get the bump stops still though.

    ROFLcopter!!!!

Should have got some more decent coilovers for that price... something along the lines of BuddyClub N+ Dampers.

IMO sell your set up and buy some decent coilovers.

    Also, get some smaller wheels.

lol, my mechanic should have recommended coil overs instead of ripping me off for labour work.

This is how stuff was done:
    1. lower car via springs - he didnt tell me my shocks were gone. $200 labour
    2. i asked him for new shocks - he didnt put in bump stops $200 labour
    3. Now i need bump stops/stiffer springs & smaller wheels

    $400 in labour!!! ARGHHH

LOL, shit!!!!! >___<. Well ben is gonna do the bump stops for me, but still need smaller wheels.

$200 to do new springs on a civic isnt too unreasonable.i do it for $100 backyard.its just that hes done it twice and you paid for it twice.unless he did the springs and shocks at the same time and charged you $400,thats dodgy, putting the new springs on new shocks takes as much effort as putting the new springs on old shocks so he shouldn't of doubled labour.
    meh,its all hindsight now

your car must be quite low and you are very close and sitting on bumpstops, like sexxx's thread in suspension/handling.
the bumpstop is not supposed to hit or be in contact with the enclosed part of the shock, the bumpstop is there as a precautionary thing to stop the shock fully bottoming out.if it changes handling then you are hitting the bumpstop, something that should be avoided really

or enjoyed as i am now experiencing. riding on bump stops severly limits your suspension travel and if you want a smooth ride should be avoided! if your car is lowered and are very close to the bumpstops and want more free suspension travel the bumps stops can be trimmed. i wouldn't sugest cutting any more than 2 of the little knobs off the smaller end but for this make sure that you have shortened stroke shocks and that the wheel has clearance in the arches/guard etc

auto noob you car doesn't look that low this is my old ek with 18's that just went under the guard.

it never srcubbed thats what makes me think your wheels offset is definatley too big and there is little you can do besides changing the wheels to stop this. i had king springs kyb shocks and rolled guards and scrubbing wasn't bad big sways got rid of it totally.

you don't make sense. you say here bump stops make a difference cos you have screwed up bumpstops your cars handling is worse. then now you say shocks are gone and you car isn't even lowered so you'd be no where near the bump stops in the first place. and i would rekon that your car would hadle like a boat with shocks gone and stock springs. bumps stops would be the last of your worries.
