    My Manual does the same thing, so it souds like the ECU is programmed to increase the RPM in certain situations

    100% normal. When the engine is cold, ECU opens up the throttle so that you have more revs to get the engine warmed up quicker. Being an auto, that means like you're having partial accelerator all the time.

    Aint 2k RPM on the high side? Mine is around 1.5k only

    It's not really cold in Darwin with mornings at the moment starting at 26 degrees. My Euro's engine has a high idle when started from "cold" so it must be normal and probably part of the process of getting the engine warm and the catalytic converter to working temperature as fast as possible.

    my Ga1 CITY revs high when its cold but after like 10mins of driveing its fine.
