lol Yeah, can't really explain, I start the car up (doesn't matter when or where, just tried it out and about today) and it rev's to just over 2000rpm, put it into reverse and it just wants to go, then I reverse and put it into drive and it wants to fly again, then after a few seconds it settles down..so must be warming up?
It's an auto btw.
100% normal. When the engine is cold, ECU opens up the throttle so that you have more revs to get the engine warmed up quicker. Being an auto, that means like you're having partial accelerator all the time.
It's not really cold in Darwin with mornings at the moment starting at 26 degrees. My Euro's engine has a high idle when started from "cold" so it must be normal and probably part of the process of getting the engine warm and the catalytic converter to working temperature as fast as possible.
