    Alpine H/U

Hey guys, my Alpine h/u turns off when I crank up the tunes to about 20 and then it turns itself back on but the volume is at about 5?? Any idea why it would do this?

is it the head unit or the amp that turns off? if the head unit it sounds like wiring, if the amp, turn the gains down...

or another thing, if you have a short in the speaker cables coming out of the head unit, it will shut down as the internal amp is getting hot...

how did you connect the wiring on the harness? soilder it properly or electrical tape?

because this can happen if the wires arnt soilder on and connected properly.

when you crank it up does it sound like its losing power then cuts out. and only stays turned on a lower volumes?

Yeah similar to that, I haven't soldered wiring as yet cos I'm getting a 4 channel amp but wanted to listen to music in the mean time.

you can still twist and tape (not recommended) providing that each wire is taped separately...
