what is the chance that he wants to spend as much on a sub as he did on a car (not quiet literally). if some1 came on the forum asking what car they should get are you gonna tell them to get a ferrari? be realistic!

Man, i was blown away with how loud this setup goes, when i was listening to the sub in the showroom it sounded good. So i expected it to sound a bit better than that. But when i got it up and running in my car the sound is awesome and can reach extremely loud volume without distorting.
I guess cause the sub is in the same cabin, i probably could of got a lesser powered sub and amp and it will still be thumping loud as well, what do you guys think about this?

i worked at Gary's car radio for a while man, i would strongly recommend nothing other than an alpine type r , or kicker comps, (They'll handle a huge bashing). I worked with plenty of pioneer, fusion, and kenwood n clarion etc and for the dollar figure a kicker comp or a alpine type r will give the best, non plasticy' sound n last you ages. Spesh with these two sub's they're not too punchy and not to droney so you'll def be happy wit them. Or if u got heaps of money go soundstream, that stuff genuinely amazes me.

n i don't rate alpine type x compared to the r, i know theres a whopping price difference n me saying this could get ppl really pissed off but i just don't think its a strong enough bass sound for the kind of music that i would play on them. For Music like real bass RnB n dirty kind of electro i reckon a type R with the write monoblock will sound better. The type x is more a refined sound which IMO loses sexiness

from what i have heard the alpine type x isnt as good as the type r...
however, i have a rockford fosgate 12" p2 sub running off rockford fosgate amp and thats pretty louds.. all thanks to tiksie's 'BY' tunning.

The type-X will pound the lows, type-R will do this also.
both are great subs, the Type-R can get loud, as well as the type-X, the Type-X edges out on SQ, but they are similar.
For the price you pay for a Type-X there are better sounding and also louder subs, ie/ Oz audio matrix
Any sub can "get loud", providing it can handle the amount of power given and box factor is very very important.
No point of shuving a $1000 sub in a $50 sealed 1cuft box.
