    recalibrating CVT in a JAZZ

    hi,

my jazz recently has been jerking back and forth between 40 to 60km so after some read up in the forums i know i need to recalibrate the cvt...

so i called up a local honda dealer and they want $144 to recalibrate it...

i thought i might give it a go myself after reading this thread
    http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...jazz+audio+din

i cant do it myself because the steps require a plug that comes with the car when purchased...unfortuntely i bought my car second hand and the previous owner did not have this also..

so is there anywhere else i can get this recalibrated for cheaper? or is there another way without that "TOOL" (BTW mines a auto )

any help would be great thanks in advance

the way to recalibrate your jazz is....

*Ozhonda takes no responsibility for your actions

reset the ECU ~ disconnect the NEGATIVE terminal for a few minutes. REconnect.
Jump in the car , drive in D and find a nice quiet long stretch of road.
Drive gradually until 60km/h then let go of the accell. and "coast" until a almost dead stop. Repeat this 3-4 times.

    Congrats you recalibrated your CVT

    LOL @ $144

it takes all of 15-20mins absolute MAX to do. however i'd get it checked out as there are a few things that can make auto jazz jerk. one of them being the start clutch in the cvt.

so all i gotta do is disconnect the battery for 10mins
then drive up to 60k and let it slow down to almost a complete stop and repeat 4 times?

If its jerking between 40-60 @ light throttle is it quite possibly your EGR valve.

    as above ^

If it wont fix the issue its not the actual CVT - its the EGR needs replacement
    Take it to a dealer

They are not hard to replace yourself, all you need to do it undo 2 nuts, replace the EGR valve and the gasket then re-fit the nuts.
