    Windscreen Wipers Refills

    gday all.

so i thought i'd go and buy some rainx and some new wiper refills today.

got home and was installing it only to find out the LONG (drivers side) wiper rubber was longer than the one i bought.

the 6mm width fits fine, but the wiper i got was only 610mm in length. the stock one is about 650mm in length. (2006+ model euro with the rubber wiper blades)

has anyone found an non-OEM wiper refill that is longer than 610mm? i was in kmart and 610mm seemed to be the longest one they've got!

You have to buy OEM.I don't think there are any aftermarket inserts for 06 or later.

i bought some that fit and worked fine, it just happened to be about 40mm short.

just wondering if anyone has seen anything longer than 610mm in length?

Got both sides OEM for $24. No fuss install, I would just fork out the money.

Once you remove the blade assembly from the car, just peel back the end that has "LOCK" and slide it out. Wiper blade cover shouldn't break unless it is crusty and brittle.

Do you peel back the blade cover at the end where the lock is? I'm folloing the manual to scretch the end where the lock is but I can never stretch enough space for the blade to come out!

yes peel back the very end. It should stretch far enough for the blade to come out. if not, pull harder

Yeah just pull the end back to access the insert.

The instructions should be in your Honda User Manual.

You are going to run around town for the sake of $4?

p.s. On a side note - Toyota wanted $210 ($70ea) for new wipers on my Prado. I told them where to go obviously.
Always ask what they are going to do for service when you take your car in, so you can tell them what you want done with out any surprises.
