mate ,if it increases the power/performance in any way its an illegal modifacation for p platers. put it this way , even having a pod filter is classified as a performance mod and youl most likely get diked and fined and even loose points if your busted.

exhaust guys just want your money

if it's anything like nsw, any sort of mod for performance isn't allowed for provisional license holders
i.e. i/h/e mods, boost, engine swaps, etc

does this apply to P plates in general or just for new P plater's (i.e red p-plates and not greenies)

Either way, i think alot of P platers would get bent over

if you got your p plates after july 07 it applies to you.. but i think you could get away with having headers...

your best bet is to ring the cop station try get in touch with a highway patrol officer. its pretty black and white from there on.

in response to someone saying you can have mods on old p's , i have to disagree. old p platers can drive SOME certain types of V8 , turbo etc that fall under power to weight ratio. (for egsample - toyota land rover v8 = yes for some p platers .vy SS commodore = no.) but old p platers still a barred from having any performance enhancing modifacations.

    hope that helps man

herd, vic got the 125kw per tone law.

in nsw p platers can still modify their cars
putting a legal exhaust which is under the limit of the db off whatever and air filter with and enclosed airbox

yeah these new laws make no sense at all, the old power to weight ratio was so much simpler and was logical.

try this, under the new laws i can technically drive an s2k or NSX but i cant put a CAI on my civic...

    what the?
