    new sparks reset ecu?

can going from really bad spark plugs to new ones cause a car to run rich and blow black smoke?

should the ecu be reset once plugs have been changed or will ecus adjust to the new spark plugs and lean out things?

if your plugs were that rooted that your ecu felt that it needed to compensate mixtures to make your car run OK then go ahead.

generally you reset your ecu with mods and service parts

noticed this to, put bosch yirridium plugs in and blowing smoke out back when put foot down.

smoke bluey-black. so burning a bit of oil to.

old plugs had a "V" in centre electrode and a crack down the middle. plus alot of corrosion to.

    oh...
so with the new plugs will you be smoking for a few days or something?

are the new plugs actaully burning all the old build up in the engine?

just chuck em in. The ECU will self adjust in short time anyways.

reason why i ask is my friend said my car was puffing black/blue smoke when accelerating this morning. i stopped/started around 6-7 times...he said smoke came out every time i took off..sometimes i puffed smoke while cruising at a constant speed (maybe i floored it a little)
he said i wouldn't be able to see the black smoke in my mirrior...i tried to look and i can't see crap...and he said the smoke doesn't rise high...
i changed my sparks yesterday..iridium IX...that's about it...compression test was fine.

so today i reset my ecu for an hour and then connected the battery again..but drove the car a few hours later.
i tried to look and look when taking off again but seriously i can't see anything coming from the exhaust area..
so maybe the ecu reset fixed it? i will have to observe my car sometime to see what it really looks like..lol..

btw do the sparks needed to be gapped or anything? or is it just plug and play?

also took my car for a 70km drive...floored it here and there down the motorway to make sure any old buildup is burnt up in the exhaust..
vteced 1,2 and 3rd gears a few times...
performance is fine...i can't see a prob with the car ><

the thing is i got a comp test, new sparks, leak test..radiator not leaking or anything...yeseterday!..but only drove a few km with the new spark plugs...
and hearing that my car is blowing black(or blue?) smoke the day after is not comforting at all...
    -_- paranoid again... >_<
my friends can't really tell if it's black or blue..they don't know about cars..
all they know is ' visible black smoke' is bad if you know what i mean..to them a normal car shouldn't be blowing any smoke at all haha...
    lol.
how much smoke i was spitting out this morning i have no idea...but i couldn't see it at all in the mirrors...

iridium must not be re-gap. It has a fine tip. Re-gapping may brake it.

i thought that all new sparks came pre-gapped, so you dont have to worry about getting the feeler guages out.

reckon all the crap that accumulated in the exhaust from the poor burning from the old plugs finally getting a burn off. if thats the case, should sort itself out pretty quick
