i think im going to settle for a gt35r .82, thing was initally i was going to build something for circuit, but have realised ill be more at the strip, plus the power and time figures im aiming for are not going to be circuit friendly. i've changed so many times myself its shitting me to hahaha.

From what ive been researching months on end, i was after something with 500-550hp, with the spool of a gt3076 (boost at 4-4.5k) but it would die off around 8k and would fall short of true 500whp. Plus some of the dyno graphs on evans-tuning.com and what mike of synapse has done were on hub dynos so read a tad higher than a roller which they seemed to get anywhere from 450 to 550hp out of a gt30.

The 35 can do it but it will hit over 500 easily but boost is at 5.5 - 6k.
I havnt been able to find something that has a nice sweetspot of boost at 4.5k and 500-550hp to 9k.

    build as planned is:
    Benson block to 83mm
    cp pistons
pauter rods new bearings, oil pump water pump

port n polished head with valve job
    supertech valve train
    skunk pro1 cams

mite get driven 1 a week on the street (if that)

looks like ill end up with a gt35r what you reckon?

i want a setup that will satisfy me, that i can take it out to the strip most sundays and run consistent 10sec passes thats the goal, its just confusing as hell trying to sort thru a lot of crap out there that people claim that works when really it don't.

im not fussed in dyno queens thats why i want the best possible setup that will let me get to this goal - picking the correct turbo for the motor planned is vital that will get me the pass consistently, i have the sussy pretty much sorted, just getting some sperical bearings and all that put in. Engine internals, bore sizes and all are pretty much set in stone now of what i will get. Same as the drivetrain. Just this stupid turbo is bugging me!

anyway thanks for your input guys.

Yeah on a Stock b16a, it does go pretty well. Didn't it make over 170kw atw with that turbo kit?

umm..........i dunno why u need so much power to run 10sec passes........i mean yeh it will satisfy u not being able to keep the car straight lol............

example, a good mate of mine owns a 11.83 sec toyota starlet, it make 204kw at the front wheel, plus 30hp shot of nos..............

another mate has a tx3 laser front wheel drive, makes 230kw and runs 11.60 sec

another car that most of you know, is BLKCRX ran 11.68 at 121mph with 250kw.......b16a

so power aint everything...........weight and suspension is your key.

my opinion, if you had 300kw ur laughing with the right setup...........

good luck anyways.......id love to see this finished

but tom, there all 11 sec cars haha im building some different to the rest of oz, im doing a US style of build, sleeves and all, this car i was eyeing ran 10.2 and trapped in the high 130's, and ran 10.98 on 15psi with a simiar build that i have in mind. should be all good. this set up wont be built over night, im just doing lots and lots of research as i dont want this setup to turn to shit, where possible the best parts will be used.

just going to confirm that i will be able to run the 35r with my mini ram with phil- my main issue will be the oil line return and maybe clearance, but i think it should all be fine.
