Thanks for quick reply aarong. Have you been to them, are they any good?
I was actually told that they change all filters :-/ nothing was mentioned re valve clearance check but I assume they'd do since they charge so much. Will double-check anyway if I go with them.

Also wanted them to check steering pull to the left (i know there are 20+ pages regarding this on forum ) but now afraid its gonna cost me an arm and a leg...

Ask them about valve clearance check as well. They are good, my colleague uses them. I don't because I do my servicing myself now.

As for pulling to the left, I wouldn't have the dealer try to fix it because they just misalign the subframe to compensate. I'd get a proper wheel alignment done to my specs. Also, does it pull to the left when you are in a shopping mall car park? Or does it happen only on the street?

Thank you for your input guys!!

I've heard before that 40k and 80k supposedly are the dearest. So i'll have to bite the bullet. I just wanted to make sure in Parra's Trivett guys know what they do, as i've heard a lot of stories that in service centres servicing is mainly done by apprentices, so its not always the best service u can get for that money.
I was told it would take 4-5 hours and they'll do the whole shebang. When i get home i'll get the log book and have a look at what needs to be done, then check with the guys at trivett parra.

As for the car pulling to the left, I don't want to start a new post here , but its sort of not constant. When i was driving on hume hwy I've felt it pretty strong, sometimes when i break it pulls harder. I have to admit, i haven't tested it in a carpark - will have to do that - but on Sydney roads it comes and goes - weird. I've red on this forum that the rods most likely need to be checked. I'll probably go to Hannys for this one.
    Thanks guys for your input!!

On regular roads, the pulling is caused by road camber, which you can't fix it by regular means. Since it comes and goes, then it is tramlining or following camber, not pulling because of an suspension/alignment problem.

    June 2008 i paid $229 for a 40K service.this didn't include air filter(have K&N filter) or oil(supply my own).
    It included(copied from receipt)
    Replace engine oil and filter
Checked and topped up all fluids
Bled brakes and replaced brake fluid
    Checked ft.and rear brakes
    Ft.85%,rear 70%
    Checked and adjusted handbrake
    Rotated tyres
    Inspected valve clearances
Inspected and adjusted all drive belts
    Checked alignment of lights
Visually inspected tie rod ends, steering gear box
    and driveshaft boots
Checked and re tensioned suspension and steering components
Inspected brake hoses and lines including ABS
    Checked exhaust system operation
Checked operation of all electrical components and accessories
    Inspected fuel lines and connections
    Degreased engine bay
    Roadtested vehicle
Apparently it costs more if they have to do an actual valve clearance.Mine was a check and it was within spec.

hmm, thanks for sharing the info guys!!
will be ringing Collins Honda (Rockdale) shortly ) if I get to save a hundred bucks or so, then its worth travelling there.
Tony1234, how much oil is required to be supplied? i'd rather buy my own. Which one do you use?

slightly off topic, but for those of you who supplied own oil, do you check that Honda really put that into your engine? how would you know if they really did and what if they don't?
i've experienced once with a mitsubishi dealer, who used his own oil, instead of mine. I suspect that my Honda dealer did the same as well.. i've always supplied my own castrol edge sport 5w30, and know its characteristics. the oil in my just-serviced Euro smelt differently... it has a much stronger 'oil smell' and looks thicker and a shade darker, quite unlike the edge sport.

I get them to return the unused portion of oil. So if they to take the trouble to pour out your supplied oil, then they might as well pour it straight into your engine.
