Hi guys, if anyone is still interested:
I went to TrivettClassic Honda, brought my own air filter and oil filter (is ryco a good brand?), and my own 5ltr canister of CASTROL 5w30 oil (picked it all up at repco for about 130 bucks).
So, here's what's been done (from invoice):
- Replaced Engine Oil
- Replaced Engine Oil filter
- Inspected valve clearances
- Replaced air cleaner element
- Inspected all drive belts
- Visually inspected steering gearbox & tie rod end bolts
- Visually inspected suspension components
- Visually inspected driveshaft boots
- Visually inspected brake hoses & lines including abs
- Visually inspected exhaust system
- Visually inspected fuel tank & connections
- Visually inspected tyre condition
- Inspected tyre condition and rotated tyres
- Inspected parking brake adjustment
- Inspected front and rear brakes
- Checked headlight, tail, indicator, reverse & brake light operation
- Checked all fluid levels and condition of fluid
- Carried out roadtest and checked all systems & controls
The only thing that's NOT being done was headlight adjustment, as i was told it was carried out previously (came up on their computer).
Soo, for all of the above i've paid 277 bucks
Plus
- Environmental Disposal
- Shop Supplies
- Washer Bottle Fluid
totalled up to 17 bucks
Total up: 277 + 17 + GST = around $325 and that's WITHOUT the filters and oil that i've bought separately.
I also had to change my rear breakpads as per their findings, kaaching $250, which i could probably do at Hannys like 50-60 bucks cheaper. But i just wanted to get done with it & not worry about it anymore. (but next time i'll know better).
Soo, the car spent there almost the entire day. dropped it off around 8, it was ready after 4. Car wasn't washed, propably just wiped, as it wasn't dusty on the outside but still had smashed bugs on the front bumber. Wasn't vacuumed either. Soo I cannot say I was "over my head" with level of service. They did return the unused oil lefrovers however.
I've also reported strange clicking noise in the steering column when right indicators (for example) swithed on and i'm turning the wheel to the right. Was told its normal sound made by the indicator cancelling mechanism. Do you guys have same thing with your Honda's?
