Alright, so ive driven a little 88 civic sedan for a while, since then loved the hondas!!, so im looking at buying a integra... its a 89 model with lots of mods at a very reasonable price... below is a list of mods, i was just wondering how reliable you think all this could be etc?
Bloke selling it says he is unsure on what the new engine has done, but the car has done 188 thousand. not bad for the age... i took it for a drive last night, never driven a vtec, and i loved this thing. went like a rocket. claims to have 103kw atw...

anyone? even if there are some common faults that i would need to look for?
-
how much ?
Did you check if the shocks are still in good order?
things like CV , shocks and bushings may need replacing at that age unless done so already.

6g negotiable.... i reckon thats pretty good? considering the seats alone would be about 5-600each?? not to mention engine work.
Thoughts mate
?

sorry didnt see the shocks question... no i havent looked for that yet, car rides really well though.
another thing, because of the lightened fly wheel when i take my foot of the clutch the revs drop down straight away to about 500. the seller says its because of the weight??

any accident history ?
check for the alignment of panels and front n rear bar.. just a thought.

I doubt it would be because of the weight though.

I will ask the bloke these questions, he seemed pretty genuine and reason for selling was buying a new car. he said his next plans were quad throttle bodies etc etc...

The car is very straight, only thing i see wrong is the paint fading a little.

Alright, well bear in mind i was driving this car in 40degree weather also, the clutch is very jumpy, when the car is idling is is perfect.
i just dont want to jump into it without knowing, but i guess this is the gamble i have to take,,,
Price seem ok though? i will offer 5g and see...

going to make a decision on this car tonight,. so if anything i should look for guys it would be much appreciated?

seems like a good enough buy.
does he still have any of the recepts?
dyno sheet?
-
get the NRMA/RACV to put it up on a hoist and see if they think anything is wrong with it. only costs a couple of hundred dollars and worthwhile

Would be very worthwhile, but that couple hundred i dont have unfortunately.. mate looking at it is very critical and will see what he thinks.
The Cv's apparently do "clunk" a little.. only thing im worried about is he is unsure how many ks the new engine has done.
