    UPDATE:

Im thinking about installing a PNN4 transmission out of a 2007+ Civic Si into my car, it comes stock with 1.5 way LSD, and 4.7 Final drive... Not to mention the fact its got alot shorter 2nd gear, to fix up that massive acceleration gap the AUDM CL9 suffers from.

I also did some rough calculations on the top speeds in each gear between the K24A3 transmission, and the K20Z3 transmission...

    K24A3 - - - - - K20Z3
    ---------------------
    59km/hr - 1st - 54km/hr
    104km/hr - 2nd - 83km/hr
    142km/hr - 3rd - 116km/hr
    187km/hr - 4th - 154km/hr
    233km/hr - 5th - 192km/hr
    261km/hr - 6th - 269km/hr

Awesome! Finally someone is gonna fix that sorry excuse for a 2nd gear the Euro has. I was always complaining about it, but now with RBC it's 10x worse - traumatising even. How much can you pick them up for man? I'd be very interested. But also, doesn't the K20Z3 redline at 8000rpm stock? So all those top speeds you estimated be even lower because the K24 only revs to 7200rpm yeah?

Or maybe you've already taken that into account

Check if the Si's transmission case lines up with the passenger side engine mount. I've read in another thread that DC5 and Euro are different, and it should be the case for Si as well.

those top speeds are all calculated on my 225/45/18s at 7400rpm rev limit (stock)

yeah the stock 2nd is shithouse... unless you smash 1st all the way to redline, it takes way to long to get her revving again... and if your taking a corner about 50-60km/hr in 2nd, omg talk about slow acceleration after it!

ill send you a PM on price... lets just say 70kg overseas shipping is nearly more than the whole tranny!

i spoke to a guy in US who has one in his TSX... worst case senario ill swap the gears into my K24 tranny case, or custom fabricate a mount...

the only issue i was concerned was with the shifter cables matching up, ive heard guys swapping them into rsx/integras not being able to shift into 3rd properly... but the tsx guy said his matches fine

I think this is the way you're going to go...
You'll have no problem, you've proved to be pretty handy with the spanners so far...

Should be interesting to see how much quicker it will make the 1/4 quicker as you'll have to make another shift vs. the K24a3 box but the ratios will be much better suited to the power. Please do a before and after 1/4 run!!!

Is the gear swap really worth it?I don't find 2nd gear too bad, particularly after fitting the Comptech headers. What would be the approx.cost of getting this done Adrian?

Remember Justin has the RBC which shifts the power up a bit. 2nd is just bareable with the stock torque curve but it's terrible with the RBC, it bogs so hard into the gear and it's an awkward wait for it to get back up to around 5500rpm

on the track, taking a sharp corner at about 40-50km/hr your going to be in second, it takes way to long to then jump up to 100km/hr for your shift into 3rd...

i was originally just going to buy the 4.7FD and LSD... but it was pretty much the same price for the entire transmission as for just those two parts

a little more labour involved, but im going to do lightweight fly and clutch at the same time, probably main rear seal aswell

    It'll certainly be quicker,
But at the expense of fuel economy in the lower gears.
If it's a track car or used on the drag strip, it'd probably pay off with quicker times.
For a roadie, it'd likley see you get a ticket sooner rather than later cause you'll want to rev it. LOL
PM me for a price, I'll annoy too many people if I open quote in threads.

Could you send me a PM in regard to which other gearboxes would fit/you'd recommend for a CL9?
