well u will be looking for a very long time lol
u stepped up in prices playing with b series parts
just use what u have if u dont like it
then start to think what would suit your driving style

couldnt agree more 90LAN.. B-series aint cheap !! supply and demand drives the prices up and keeps them there..

you might find a destroyed B-series box for $500 LOL..

EK9 and DC2-R boxes in good condition usually go for $2,000.. get used to it..

I think Mike has an Auto box, so I dont think he'll be using what he has haha.. he'll need non-auto cams and ECU too :P

    98spec onwards are 4.7lsd!

ur definately looking at roughly 1500$ even for the 4.4's since price has inflated abit..

    imo.. get a 4.7 type r box..
or maybe a 4.4box if ur planning to throw in a aftermarket gearset anyway..

ONLY JDM DC2R's are 4.7fd, any year! all other B series GB's are 4.4 inc EK9

4.4fd is still pretty short, 100kmh in 5th is about 3500-3600rpm

i beg to differ because i've seen B16A manual gbox for $450 in the paper a while ago... i'll just keep looking.
If not I'll just buy another wreck of a Gen3 CRX or EK and strip that down and take what I need - sell the rest.

I do want this to be a budget build - because its a budget track car... if there's a will theres a way.

the $450 B16 box was prob an old EF9/EF8/DA9 cable box.. those go for a lot cheaper but they have even taller ratios.. and with transmissions, u get what you pay for LOL.. u buy a $500 box then it fries itself and whack u up for $2k to rebuild it lol..

and EK1-whatever.. auto cams dont have the same spec. i am 90% sure there's a difference !! show me where/how u know ??

mikey MY car is a budget build LOL i havnt paid for any labour since i did my swap and it still owes me 30k..

the b16a auto cams are different to the b16a manual cams... the auto has a lower rev limit etc..
