People are more out of their minds driving without insurance. Fair enough you can afford 30 - 70k to loose your car depending on how much you bought it for... but can you afford that other persons car/house/properly. Mind you a street lamp will cost you 3k if you hit one.

shop around , but ive got mine thru a company called "pay as you drive" as it is purely a weekend car , we have it insured for 10,000kms a year. I can top up the kms in 5,000kms blocks for about $150 IIRC.

i know of several younger guys who cant afford the insurance and just go without . As they are struggling with repayments etc .

invest into shares ( good time to buy blue chip stocks ) or an apartment . In 5 yrs time you'll have enough money to buy something a little more flash .

Called the guy today to arranged for a test drive on the weekend, had another bloke test yesterday who apparently did a no-show after saying he'll drop off the deposit today, but obviously taken with a grain of salt. Will see how it pans out.
