btw found a j's racing full catback for our fds: from ozhonda trader JDMCONCEPT. Although its pretty damn pricey lol... and with a full catback like these, changing it to ur own muffler would kinda ruin it wouldnt it?

Hmmm, looks like the way to go is just a muffler upgrade then hey? Unless somehow the guy at the store convinces me that the full system will be beneficial in regards to power gains - and its gonna take him some comprehensive convincing too lol...

If you go a FULL exhaust system (ie. extractors and all) then you would have some increase in performance.. If you only go the catback and/or muffler only, there is NO power difference. And even with the power gains you won't feel that much of a difference...

it was tested with a cat back system on the civic sport, u gain sum hp startin from 6000rpm but the peak hp was nearly the same to stock due to the restriction of headers and intake.

lol, at 6000rpm.. how useful. hmm, guess there really isnt much point unless u get everything including a new intake and headers aye, guess i'll just go the muffler lol.

if u just want the look, then axel bac is enough, no point goin cat back if u want power unless u get headers with it. it was also mentioned that the stock rubber intake pipe already does the same thing as an aftermarket aluminium intake and the most useful mod is to get headers (optional catback) and a ECU flash tune.

Hmm, any exhaust shop can custom headers yes? headers + full exhaust (extractors and everything) would be best choice for power gains then? minus the ECU tune..

are you actually going for big power gains in your car?

I/H/E will only ever give you 10kw's atw (if that) gain MAX... with a stock motor

tbh with you its a waste of money, unless you really desire and must have it.

if you really wanted to be quicker.. you'd be looking to get flywheel, clutch & final drive.. and i dont know if most of them are possible yet for fd..

so it seems, im not much of a mechanic minded person sorry, a full cat back exhaust system(i take it no straight free flows happen here as CATs are compulsory?), extractors, header work?? and intake wont really do much to the AU FD2 seeing it uses a basic i-vtec engine with lower compression?

is it possible to just get a JDM type r engine and have someone fit it?

i find the civic sport I have not as slow as I thought it would be, sure not like previous vtecs I've owned, but there must be some potential in there?
or is that back to the windows vista on a pentium 1, you aint going no where with that one...
