i say suss out insurance before you purchase the car.. then add rego and the price of the car and in total see if you can afford it. if you cant afford to insure it then you cant afford to have it. full stop.

to be honest when i first got licence 3yrs ago my parents pushed me to get insurance and i didnt want it. now i see its not just the car your insuring but also the property damge you get with the policy aswel. wat hapens if you loose control and drive into some ones house... you got a lazy $100g + to pay for repairs for your car, their house and their compo they will try sue you for.
my old car was unsafe on the road.... it would turn off coz the weather was too hot and i coulnt steer (sold the car in the end) but what happens if i was in a situation where it hapened and i ran over a child coz i couldnt steer out of the way.
people are phsyco. what if you accidentaly cut some one off or took a park some guy been waiting for. you get back to the car and it vandelised. you might think you're a safe driver but you cant control the actions of others. if you on third party and your intrior ruined, new paint job needed, etc. third party wont even cover the peanuts in you glove box.

if you car worth around $10g + then go full comp.

ive heard that if you dont list a driver under the insurance and they have an accident like just say your mechanic, as long as you pay the highest excess you are covered. is that true for the people that work at insurance companies?

I dont know if this is true, but if it is im willing to do this, shannons seems to be the cheapest and they only insure cars if you are within a group or club, why don't us a group do something like this so that we all get cheaper insurance?

would like to know if this is how shannons works and if people would be willing to do this?

I pay $1300 pa with justcars atm.
