hey mate ive got the same issue and no you can;t because youd be modifying your car/engine and that you cant do when your on your p plates in brisbane now, there might have been people saying if you modify your car and keep it under 200kw or buy it off someone its fine, but there wrong. i even askd a officer about it...and they confirmed it.
