First thing we already spoke about was rev limiter.. That's relatively easy, but not sure on how v-tak is ecu controlled..
ill give you $200 for my rev limit to be raised to 8,000... ill do everything else

vtec should just be a relay/transitor that grounds its output at the set crossover point....

Just saw your sig, that's a good wakefield time. What mods do you have on your car? 140 kW is a good number.

Nice! Your car should make good power, especially with the Toda headers. If not peak power, the mid range should improve significantly.

Will you be going for the upcoming wakefield day on 10th July?
I did see that red Euro, the tyres on that one were very grippy. I find the RE001 just not sticky enough for such a heavy car. I'm going to change my brake pads this time to see if a sport pad will help, but I am not expecting much, since the car was sliding around most of the time.

Edit: Sorry guys for hijacking the thread.

i find the re001 not good enough as well. also dont ever get dixcel type m pads, if you are to get dixcel, get the type z. my friend had type m on his s15 which was really good at holding up but for some reason not so good on the euro. i think it's the weight of the car? well i don't know so yah look into something else. july 10th, maybe. i know leon's really keen to go but i need to save up and see how i go first, needs to save up for tuning my emanage ultimate as well.

The VTEC solenoid and VTC solenoid are both grounded directly to the engine block. They are both switched by a 12V output from the stock ecu.

That's why when running the Vi-pec ecu you need to wire a small solid state relay into the loom for VTC control. The vi-pec's high frequency auxillary outputs (greater than 300hz) are all ground switching... so the solid state relay is wired in to a 12v power souce so that the ECU is effectively outputting a high frequency 12v pulse to the VTC solenoid (instead of the usual ground).

VTEC is much simpler, since it doesn't need to be constantly adjusted. All you need is a switchable voltage output (like an ignition/injection channel).

    Hey boys,

So far so good, we ended up getting into the ecu, but only as read only mode, we can't figure out hiwvto get it into read/write.... Yet

We had it where we could clear ecu codes, but not save the map off the ecu or save it back on.. There must be a short out somewhere, either way we lost sunlight and a jim beam or 2 later, gave up for the day.. We managed all this in 45 mins, so all is looking hopeful at this stage
