ffs, my wipers have gone to shit again.
chattering and leaving streaks on my windscreen.
I paid $24 for the two inserts from Honda.

Anybody else have some good alternatives and/or ideas to stop the rubber inserts going crusty?

If you have a 2003-2005, PIAA silicone inserts are the best I've found. Cost me $36 from overseas, but 1 set lasted me 2 years. The Honda refills cost me $30 but lasted only 6 months.

    I have on 06 lol.
Don't suppose PIAA make them for 06?

Just reading up, alot of people are changing the actual wiper blades. Is this necessary or should I just be looking at a quality rubber insert?

Not much choice with 06 then. If you are able to measure your stock inserts (length, width and how it secures on the blade), then maybe you can find an aftermarket equivalent.

You don't need to change the blades unless they are damaged. Just change the inserts.

I got these frameless wiper blades from a X3E (trader) on OH last week

They work really well, good even pressure along the whole blade, they look nice too.

I'll let you know how long they last.

Ive got an 03 though, so you'll have to check you're 06 wipers t see if they fit.

the silicone you use must be some lousy shit... the ones I had on my car overseas lasted me 10 years..... If my parents havent change it, its on the 11 years now.

Someone posted that he manage to change the wipers refills on his 06

I'm just picky. If they start streaking, I toss them out. My dad says his silicone lasted 11 years as well, when I drove his car, the wipers streaked like hell! Depends on personal standards. LOL.

I still have my previous PIAA pair which I used for 2 years. If anyone in Sydney wants it for $5, let me know and I can bring it to the next Euro meetup. LOL

Yep super cheap has refills that are 650mm. I bought one for my Euro about 1 month ago. Forgot what brand it was but they said they were for trucks and SUV's. There pretty good but wouldn't know how long they will last.

The Honda OEM inserts are shit. They last around 6 months then start to chatter and streak.

They cost around $30 so not too bad but it's nice to know Honda's wiper blades reflect on the poor quality of their cars too.
