Yes I still have the factory supplied 235/45 x 18's. Its a Lux model and came with 18x8 standard so all I have changed is the offset from +55 to +45.

Yes in theory, you will need to go to a 35 profile tyre though to stay close to the correct rolling diameter. Also you need to find a wheel with the right xfactor (dish shape) to clear the front brake calipers.

But when it comes to the xfactor you just have to get a wheel fitted to see how it goes, as a general rule forget deep dish type styles, they foul on the front brakes.

sorry that i confused you guy though, i was referring to the xfactor thing sludge mentioned in terms of brake caliper clearance, the style i'm looking at does have a dish, when i went to a wheel shop the other day they didn't have that style on display and they could only recommend me a 20x7.5 inch that has a dish lol they didn't even fit it on though but yeah, i remember the wheel guy saying i would only really need something like a 2mm clearance and it'd b fine (for the front brakes) or something, unless i heard wrong lol.

So technically speaking, as long as the the wheel is 45 offset, with a decent outward curvature (like as in the centre spokes bend outwards enough, it probably should clear the brakes hey?, technically :P i know i will never know until i try it on lol, but it's not easy when they can't get the wheel in just for me to have a try on lol. i'll have to call a few places to make sure it clears i guess before i purchase

I managed to pick up some cheap 19's on eBay. They are a +38 offset so i knew they would stick out a little but I thought I'd give them a crack. The tyres are 235/35.

So yes as expected they do stick out, however you really have to be standing dead above the guard looking down, or squatting at the front of the car and looking down the side to even pick it up. If your even 5mm to one angle you wont pick it up. The back sit inside fine, its only the fronts that are an issue.

I only fitted them to one side and have included photos looking side on and down the guard from both sides for everyone's reference.

On a side note, I'm glad I fitted them because it made me realise how damn high the thing sits. If I do go down the path with 19's in the future - as I don't want to be lowering, I will upgrade (or downgrade - whichever you want to call it!) to a 45 series tyre or, more likely, just go for a 20 inch instead.
