mine is just touching + a lil, lil bit more.

    thats how it should be.

    there should be no gap.

I'm gonna go and say it should be touching and tightened a little not excessively.
I don't have one btw so my comment is void

Yeah, the idea is for zero movement,so it's gotta be nice and firm.Tight.

like I said, touching + half to one more turn.

    no more, no less.

    can't get any clearer:s

you can keep turning the bolt and it will never get tight.

or if it does get tighter, your firewall is permanently bent already.

Not mine aye Bludger.I remember I could tighten it more than what I expected, but not too much as to cause damage but now mine is as tight as it can go.
I definately believe what U are saying is correct but I know in my case afetr a few turns it is as tight as it could go.

I guess the trick here is to use common sense.Don't just keep tightening it.

yes common sense is tru, you wouldnt tighten it as tight as you could cause the firewall needs to flex a lil bit. i can see where Bludger is coming from, other wise at long distance under high braking force this would could cause damage to your firewall/brake cylinder
