boston acoustics are very good speakers for your jazz and classical music. they are very midrange/treble based. very well made and they use different materials to get different levels of sound waves out of the speaker clearer.. hence why they are a hell of a lot more expensive. these speakers arent for the typical person. they are intended for the more more refined listening, i believe.

where as the typical person who wants to update their sound system wants a decent ammount of bass/midrange/treble out of the same speaker, which is where companies such as pioneer and alpine come into play..

To each their own in the end. What sounds good varies between each individual. Im just saying when you want to spend $1000 on speakers you should be much more open to options. I currently have 165KRX2 and they are great for me but some people hate focals.

Needless to say you just have to go out and test for yourselves but i find when people walk in expecting to buy Type X speakers, they walk out with something different.

lol yeah im still just searching around for speakers atm, thats just the final thing missing in the puzzle. only way to find out what speaker you want is to test them out.

wouldnt mind even trading in my type r subs for w7's =D... not anytime soon though LOL
