    gearbox fluid leaking from driveshaft?

so i degreased the engine a couple nights ago to check for oil leaks
looks like i'm losing some gearbox fluid on the driver side where the driveshaft connects to the gearbox

now as far as i know it could be caused by either the oil seal(which i had just replaced less than a year ago) or the driveshaft just isn't pushed in far enough(looks like theres about a 4-5mm gap)

would there be any other causes? or am i just better off pulling the driveshaft off and taking a look?
