i thought vtec kicks in at 6000rpm??

mine seems to be the case (stock ecu).

Yeh mine was kiking in at 6000rpm when I bought the car and the idol was at 1000rpm. Now the car idols at 500rpm and vtec now comes in at 5500rpm.

well its i-vtec so its spread accross the rev range but with a cai the actual crossover sound i believe is 6.5k rpm thats my car... stock ecu also 40l tank 400kms also

Yeh i thought that should be the case. My fuel gauge doesnt work properly so I don't want to risk running out of fuel. Thanks for that a big help.

did you do anything to your ecu?

500rpm idle seems slightly low?!

I've got a cai on mine to and it is still at around 5500ishrpm. Guess it all depends on the car.

im running fully stock.. i can feel vtec at 5.5k though? i also have a rev limiter at 5.5k when im in neutral.. is this stock ECU settings?

Yeh the plate says 750rpm is where it is supposed to be. Na I didn't actually change the idol. I just told the dealership where I bought it from that it was idoling too high so the dropped it 2 500rpm. It doesn't idol rough or seem to be doing anything bad. I'm pretty sure it a stock ecu but I havn't cheked that yet.
