Lotus live by this rule, and put simply it works.
Power to weight is what propells all sports machines into peoples dreams,
But, the fact is your S2K is not a Lotus.
To get that sort of power to weight with no improvement in power,
You're going to need a lot more than $10K.
Carbon doors, carbon roof, hood etc...
& still you'd struggle to get under the ton...
Doing all that, & leaving it stock? LOL... Ok...

    As for minor power increase,
This again is a perspective thing.

You're having a dig? yeah! The 10k+ i mentioned was for your stroker kit. LOL.
Did i say an S2K was a Lotus??? I said Lotus use this very simply method. Which does work!
Don't worry i'm aware of the total cost of building an all out F24C especially from TODA, especially when you include all the other parts required needed to support an all out build, correct me if i'm wrong but 30K+ and now we're starting to get somewhere.
Of course it's in your interest for every person who walks throw your door to spend a packet, that's how buisnesses are run.
As for a minor power increase and you saying it's a perspective thing, are you attempting to justify the idiotic price tag that comes with a full build with MINOR power increases. Nice one!

10k for small gains isnt worth it imo. turbo kits can be had quite cheaply now, the greddy kit is roughly 4.5k shipped. will only net you around 300hp (~200kw?) but its still heaps for a small car like the s.

thats what im hoping to get next year

Having a dig? Why do I bother?
I agreed with you in that you’re right about the S2K needing to go on a diet for better power to weight.
But my point was the car is tubby & quite expensive to lighten to a point were a realistic benefit is realised.
& so, on balance, the stroker kit isn’t such bad value at all, particularly in 2.35L form.
Seriously, rather than huff & puff … Just do the maths…
The car weighs in at 1275kg stock…
Factory power to weight is 7.12kg : kw
Drop the cars weight to 1000kg & it’s 5.58kw : kg which is not bad.
But for a similar amount, a 2.35L kit with some fruit can deliver 5.51kw : kg at standard weight.
Now do both… Drop the weight out of the car & up the grunt, with very little effort you’re on 4.32kw : kg

The comment about perspective is nothing like your twisted take.
Rather it’s just about your perception.
You & likely some other members seem to be under the impression that a well built 2.4L F20C will only deliver a minor power increase. And the premium price tag that this “minor increase” comes at is a complete rip off.

    Others have a different perspective.
That is that the power increase is better than average with high durability.
Availability is good & at an acceptable price.
If you’re going to modify an F20C & keep it normally aspirated, it’s a logical step.

    Anyway…
Put this thread back on topic.

jap-s2k, toda is trying to tell the thread creator the facts about a stroker kit. he's not pushing his business onto the thread creator so you dont need to be assuming thats what hes trying to do.
i'm with you on this one, i would rather go light weight then spend money on engine mods but to each their own. its a perspective thing. lol.
