out of curiosity what rims are you using, and what size?
8.5" width should be adequate to run a 235 section tire right? Some of my friends say running a wide tire over stock can mess with the balance of the car, can anyone comment on the driveability of the car after going to wider rims and tires?

Im assuming the extra lateral grip during cornering would encourage more negative camber settings to take advantage of it, which would in turn affect the feel of the car.

if they were 7-8kg then i think no one would bother selling or changing rims since ce28 and te37's arent that much lighter

My surprise regarding our stock rims is that they are Enkei, I thought theyd be maybe around the 8-9kg mark. Just didnt expect them to be so much heavier than wider rims, makes me think more about upgrading to lighter rims..

A lightweight flywheel is more cost effective than lightweight rims.
FWIW, the net result of either is similar improvements in lap times.
 So why not do both…

) is that it is hard to have too much tyre width but tyre compound is significantly more important than width. I have used tyre widths between 205 and 275 and whilst there might have been a very slight decrease in steering feel with the wider tyres (this could possibly be attributed to a slight change in sidewall height), the wider tyres just have more lateral grip everywhere. A 235 certainly isn't excessive and I think it is a nice sized tyre for EP3/DC5. Try to use a 235/40 if you can.
EDIT: My 275/245 tyre combo was significantly faster than RE55s in stock sizes

You do know that I have based my statement on a EP3 flywheel and I still think that paying $500-600 to save 800-900 grams is still too much. Unless of course the car is regularly tracked to see the benefits. Having said that, I do know what you mean. Its just that in the real world most EP3 owners here would not reap those benefits as most of us are would be red light warriors at best.

I agree with Philip LEE, as he said.....

"I hate my light flywheel on my FL. Every change must be super quick or the revs will drop down too much. On a steep hill there is no chance not using the hand brake and needs to rev to like 3000 or it'll still roll backwards. Traffic jam is not fun!!

I tried my fd's pre FL and it's much better. Honestly I won't bother replacing the flywheel"

Have not been in Evo 10, but have test driven EVO8/MR and AUDM EVO9....and yes they are very impressive to drive. I doubt that EVO 10 would really be that much better?

You guys would never guess what happened to me today on parramatta road.
I was in the middlane lane travelling up parramatta road (near the supercheap auto) i was going to IMG to get some wipers of gavin. THis absolute fuc**** idiot over takes me in the right hand turning lane speeds infront of me, this was at the lights and they had turned red, i can see him in the drivers seat flailing his arms.....he puts it in reverse and floors it into my car. He gets off the car and says 'Sorry my fault, i though i was parking' ..OHHH YEA!...parking in the middle of the road?

His Towball goes straight through my bumper and demolished my radiator, front bumper is goooonneee....the mugen lip is ok, small crack where it joins onto the bumper.

Worst roadrage incident i have ever experienced. Worst part is when my mum started calling the cops, because she was in the car he started getting all pissed off then he says 'If your going to call the police YOU HIT ME'....'I dont need to be nice..blah blah'
So now his statement to the police is that I rearended him, the police have my statement and it is a pending investigation, they want to believe me but the conflicting stories i.e have to presented to their Sargent. Absolutely pissed off i am......

The most uneccessary incident i have every witnessed/been a part of.
