already tried it following the pinouts. I could get power but no audio. The BUS has some circuitry that needs to activate it, you simply cannot connect speaker outputs to get it going, hence why everyone seems to use the AUX adaptors for audio through the AUX port.

    cheers

Hi, I have bought Pioneer Double Din Touch screen (http://www.ryda.com.au/Pioneer-AVH-P...vhp3150dvd.htm) and the Honda fitting kit. I have done a trial fit & everything looks great. The problem is that I am confused about wiring it up. I would rather bypass the factory headunit and thought that I could use this wiring harness (http://www.ryda.com.au/ProductDetail...P1720&CartID=1). I already have a Neo Prolink v2 Ipod kit that has aux inputs, but I was worried about the loss of sound quality & the added complexity. Can anyone give me some advice. My nearest installer gave me a blank look when I asked him about this.

    Thanks

I probably will use a professional to wire it up but I want to know what I am getting in to first. I was hoping to the the right parts & wiring diagrams together first & have made a decision wether to piggyback of the factory unit, bypass it completely or wire them both up. I just don't fully understand the ramifications of each choice.

Hey mate, had the same prob with my 06 accord euro, I was going to get the single din fascia for the lower pocket, changed my mind and ended up getting the single din kit that replaces where your stacker is currently, looks factory, minus the player haha. i tried it myself but as Tony123 said, best bet is to go into a stereo shop and ask for a quote on it, it wouldn't be too expensive though. I'm up for 2k just for my stereo installation!, but for me when it comes to extremely expensive things that are easy to break/damage I'd rather pay a bit of money and get it done right the first time. Good luck anyway, but yeah hit some quotes up, pays to shop around. Cheers

This might be more of an ICE thing, but i owed so much from this thread..thought it'd be appropriate if i post pics here

Finally got everything set up..got the OEM double din fascia from Honda like EUroSteve said (2 installers were actually surprised when i told them it exists).. and got myself an end of year present:

    - JVC double DIN KW-XR816
    - Alpine Type R component speakers
    - PDX-5 amps
    - Type S 12" sub in a ported box

Really liking the clean look to the JVC double DIN. And ya...it sounds brilliant

Next step I'm thinking of is Dynamats. Can anyone say if it REALLY does make a difference on Euros? We've got pretty good sound dampening already..but any info if you've got them on would be great

Nice.. I thought the JVC you bought is the JVC DVD monitor like mine. Dynamat will make huge difference especially if you have good component speaker and it will reduce the rattling noise when you crank up the sub.

Thanks. Dont think i've seen your setup Atjo..if youve got a link to it thatd be good.
I was pretty close to getting DVD display, but the positioning down there and being near the stick shift.. I went for a normal reciever instead. Wouldnt really be able to enjoy a display. I've been a passenger in my car maybe only once a year

Yup, next step..maybe make a project of installing the dynamat myself
