still prefer new cars, especially with performance cars (demos: who would drive demos gently for performance cars?)

And MK6 Jetta is ass. Trust me. MK5 Jetta is a lot better looking. They already started selling the new MK6 jetta in mexico as the jetta factory is there. Its even up on the VW Mexico website. Have a look if u wanna vomit.

I'd recommend a Jetta, but I dont like the depreciation. It doesnt hold its value i have to admit

    I miss my euro...
There is nothing wrong with the Jettas resale.
My 2.0 FSI NON turbo automatic with metallic cost $35900 drive away in November 2006,MY 07 model.

When it was written off 3 months ago,I got paid out $25000 for it,so was very happy with that.

i think depreciation on Honda's and VW's should not be a big issue. they are not like Falcon, Camry, Commodore and co... which are often used by fleet.
Still tossed between options... the GTI white can be delivered this week but no BiXenon.

I might just wait until I see the 2011 WRX on the official launch day on 8 Sept next month (a salesperson offered me an invite for the official launch this afternoon).

mine was turbo TFSI and was written off 1 month ago and I only got 30K.....it was 45K+ drive away brand new back in 2008. Only option I got was leather seats. MY08 model. 2 years, more than 15K depreciation?

    The Subaru is hideous looking.

Almost as bad as the Mitsubishi Lancer hatch.

Would you seriously go from an Euro to this..lol ???

it's got wider body from the STI and wider rims / tyres.

honestly it feels like the design team in Fuji Industries is a bunch of people who don't have taste or too much Sake
it's just excellent for it's raw power and all wheel drive.

I guess its an acquired taste. I initialy hated the WRX hatch when I first laid my eyes on it. Let me be frank and say I still dont like the WRX HATCH. I DO however like the WRX STI HATCH. Seeing that made me slowly change my mind about the looks and after seeing this WRX sedan, I would prefer the STI hatch.

But it can grow on you.....kinda like a rottweiler or a pug. If you own one, it might look butt ugly but u accept it for how it looks and u eventually see the "beauty" in it.

So is this the MY11 WRX with sti-like pumped guards? So in terms of aesthetics, what does the STI get then? Just a massive rear wing, similar front bar and different rims?

Strange how subaru is taking this approach? THe WRX hatch and the WRX STI hatch can be clearly identified due to the normal WRX lacking the pumped guards the STI has. But if the WRX sedan LOOKS exactly the same as the WRX STI, bar the wing and rims, whats the point?

But then again, thats how theyve been doing it in the past as well so....hmmm.....

in terms of looks inside out, CU2 and GOLF GTI win my heart

saw a couple of CU2 luxury black in Kingsford last night and was kind of alluring me to just forget speed and buy the CU2 instead. and it's available right now!

Any plans of chipping the GTi if you got one? the DSG is not too reliable compare to the manual if you up the power and torque too much.

Well, here is a blur magazine review from a guy who have both manual and dsg version of the Mk5 Gti

i will keep the engine stock until the end of warranty, but keen to do minor mods CAI and Exhaust.

i prefer DSG because on night outs i can drink and get drunk and let my wife drive me home (she can't drive manual)
