hey guys, planning to get some coils for my fd and was wondering what brands u guys recommend. it'll just be for street use (obviously with an fd1 lol) and budget is around 1.5k.

    cheers!

I've had hit and misses with BC Racing coilovers, haven't tried them on the FD Civic so I can't make a statement about them

ive got d2 coils. had them for about a year now and there's been no problems. they're not great if u were to track or race, but for street use they do well. bc, tanabe, skunk2 pro s, j's racing and ksport are probably ur other options for coils at around $1.5k. they're all probably the same. i've heard that d2 and ksport come out from the same factory?? they're all good if all ur not gonna track ur car.

Just a note to why i gave STD a shot.

Most coils, when you lower the car, the spring does not have 100% movement. However with the STD coils, even if you lower the car, the springs still remain with 100% movement.

    appreciate the advice guys!

@aero: how the ride comfort on d2's?

what do you guys think will be best suited for me if i was after a decent ride comfort (as my car is a daily) and noticeable improvement to the handling of the car? Or as aero stated, will most brands be pretty much the same since its just for street use?

Got a set if cusco zero gts here for sale, was using it in daily situations, adjusted the dampers close to stock and still noticed a reduction in body roll, aslo can adjust rude height without affecting spring rates

ride comfort is fine man. i use my car every day. havnt gotten any complaints from my gf (who is usually the only passenger) or other people that have been in my car. also, the profile of ur tyres also affect the comfort. although the ride isnt bad with my 17s or when i had my 18s on 40 profile, it is way more comfortable on the stock fd1 steelies and tyres.
