EP3 Type R

I was searching around for the exact spec of the EP3R K20A engine. I was specifically looking for the redline, rev limiter and vtec engagement. But after searching a bit, sources conflicted with each other. I think some people assumed the JDM DC5R has exactly that same spec as the EP3R but it actually isn't.


According to wiki these are the specs

2001-2005 JDM Honda Civic Type-R (EP3)
- 1,998 cc (1.998 L; 121.9 cu in), 215 PS (158 kW; 212 hp) @8000, 200 N·m (150 lb·ft) @7000:

2001-2007 JDM Honda Integra Type-R (DC5)
1,998 cc (1.998 L; 121.9 cu in), 220 PS (160 kW; 220 hp) @8000, 206 N·m (152 lb·ft) @7000:

I tried to match up the specs of the DC5R and EP3R engine to find the redline, rev limiter and vtec engagement of the two.

So can someone just confirm whats the redline, rev limiter and vtec engagement of an EP3R.

I think the difference is the ECU but the engine is the same.

did a quick search but couldn't find a definitive answer. which plugs suit the ep3r?

can I use a ngk iridium: BKR7EIX
or do I need the ones with a 1.1 gapping: BKR7EIX-11
I was also recommended to get the ZFR6FIX-11

I have a spare set of the BKR7EIX (with standard gapping) its not listed on the box or the ngk site, i'll have to measure it and check. Just seeing if I can use them or should I just buy some new ones with the correct gapping?

if only i didnt buy my ep3 9months ago and bought one now =( with fl headlights and soo many mods.

question: i bought some jap headlight polish used it acouple of times but i can see like stained marks and it feels rough on the surface of the cover, how do i remove the crust layer on my headlight?

wet sand it down.

I've dried out my boot and will wait and see if it happens again. Couple of rainy days coming anyway

Hey JohnO are the photos u took of ur car Japanese EP3 headlights? Whats the difference?

Eu3 headlights are like silver/chrome while our ep headlights are smoked that's the only difference looks better at night
