And the majority of Camry sales are to fleets, such as government and rental cars, thats why they have NO resale value.

Cars like Jetta,Euro ,and 6 are sold mainly to private buyers, and therefore have very strong resale values.

The Australian Federal Police does fleet buy Aurions, Mazda 6's, Liberty's and Accord Euros - the former two in decent numbers.

I did very well with my Jetta.

Paid $35900 drive away in October 2006,got $25000 for it in May 2010.

According to Redbook and carsales,as well as Wheels magazine, its resale is actually even better than the Euros ??/

ha compared to what? My Saab 9-3 Aero was $75 grand new in 2004, after substantial negotiation I got $22,000 for it when I traded for a Euro Luxury last year. And it had only done 45,000km!

compared to honda, lexus, toyota bmw i guess? main brands?
i had a base model 2006 Toyota Rav4, picked it up for 30K as demo sold 27K 2 years and a month later
corolla after a year i sold literally sold with no loss at all, sold at same price
bmw 320i i had was mixed, some gave me more than i got it for and some dealers less
i just find jettas are so much cheaper than competition? like for like models?
i find the same with Passat too, they lose value quick too
Saab and volvo lose value even quicker, just dont get it why though?

I've heard similar stories.Saabs have the worst resale values of just about any car.

and how you maintain and present the car you are selling to private buyers. i sold my 2001 Rav4 and 2006 Yaris to the first persons inspecting the car at slightly less than my asking prices, because i spent time cleaning them inside out and washing & waxing

for trade ins, even if the car looks really good, the comment i got was flattering but their valuation is not
