MY FD ONLY TAKES ME 450km FULL TANK AND ITS BRAND NEW

i heard that e10 is not so great a fuel for engines... anyway i get about 550kms from about 40L in my auto fd1 on premium 98. i get slightly lower results on 91 and 95.

i get much better from 98. got 660 out of the last tank.

i wouldnt touch e10. at all.

I have my 2007 Civic Sport....2.0 engine.....
i have recorded a few tanks over my last 2 months....
the records show like:
40L drives only around 350km (combine trip with city and highway)
3 tanks also give me a similar result.....and i fill with 98 fuel for these 3 tanks......

last week i try the 95 fuel, and you know, on the fuel meter inside our civic, there are 20 little square which indicates the fuel level...
i just had the trip driven 55km, but it took 4 square already.....=='
which means, the final km driven for this tank, would approximately be less than 300km.......

do u know where is the problem for such a ridiculous fuel consumption?
can i pass this matter to honda? as they claim that the fuel consumption is about 8.7km/100km....i believe they should have the responsiblity for the ridiculous fuel consumption....am i right?

Don't know why you guys are so against e10 fuel. Any proof that it's bad?

If it were true, I find it hard to digest why car makers recommend the use of E10, and why fuel companies would even market it in the first place.

I know it has a little to do with helping to decrease pollution in the environment and to help create a more sustainable future (fuel wise) but if it were detrimental to a car's components surely there would be some legislation against it being sold.

I also know for a fact that it may be harmful to older cars (pre 1986?) but from what I've heard it is absolutely fine for most modern fuel injected vehicles...

Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, I've used it since it was made available in all of my N/A cars and have yet to encounter problems. When I do you'll know!

so, did you get the car checked? is it normal to have that consumption??

I think if it's not your driving habit to blame then there must be a problem with your car. Best to get the dealer to check it as we would only be guessing here

so, the fuel consumption matter is also covered by the dealer?
i bought the car from a dealer, and have got the standard statutory warranty only. is it ok to ask them to check it out?
what about Honda? can i pass this to them even i havent got warranty from Honda?

Haven’t had it checked by the dealer runs perfectly though..bear in mind i drive in Melbourne stop start traffic daily..i reckon the consumption is in line with the type of driving i do..guys claiming 7-8 litres/100 kays are dreaming unless they spend the majority of time in 5th at 90k’s on a freeway

Manufacturers recommed ethanol to break your engines faster so you buy new ones. Conspiracy ftw!

Chichibo, go and see the dealer about it, you have no obligation to fix the problem. but you can get them to diagnoise it i'm sure..

also, is it just me, or do you seem to get lots of problems with your car?
