i would double check the history of the engine as well - it has a red rocker cover and apparently it has type-r cams
so who did the mods and was it tuned to accomodate it?
need to ask a few questions here man....

Yup exactly. Ask for as much proof/evidence as he can give you for every single thing on the car that he has touched, try and account for everything. Just something little like keeping receipts can go a long way into telling you what type of owner he was. And organized person is more likely to keep receipts, because they may have the the foresight to realise that if he ever wanted to sell the car later on they could come in handy. It may also show that he cares about the most meticulous of details, which in turn means he is more likely to have cared about the car. Classic exampl: If a mans Recaros are immaculate, you can pretty much garuntee that the rest of the car will be too. Why? Because keeping recaros immaculate is hard. Therefore if he cares about the smallest things, he is obviously going to car about the big things. Espcially if it set him back alot of money. Obviously things like reciepts go missing, so you cant really expect all to be there.
Sorry, getting way off topic haha. It just comes from personal experience. The guy I bought my car off had the log books full of not just service receipts, but reciepts for anything and everything spent on the car ie: wax and polish, light bulbs etc. I'm the same. I even keep fuel receipts LOL. now that I say that outloud it probably seems abit OCD. But it's the principal.

Oh well. Whoever buys my car if I ever sell it can be garuanteed that I took care of it.

Make a mental map of the processes of changing a rocker cover, as an example:

-Why did he change it? Was it for looks alone? Was he a noob who only cares for how his engine looks rather than performs? Or was the original one damaged?
 -When did he change it?
-For him to change it, it obviously came off the motor: What else was done whilst the head was exposed?
-How careful was he when he changed it?
 - etc etc.

 Just common sense man.

I called the guy up, i asked if he had any receipts, he said no because he is a Mechanic and did all the work himself, its Had 2 owners, first one was his friend, then he bought the car off him. Would you mind giving him a call at all and asking him some questions?

He also said i would have to get the Roadworthy myself, meaning id have to pay or actually get it myself? seems abit weird if he claims he is a Mechanic
