					Overheating issues

hey guys ive got overheating issues atmbasicly
radiators not blocked, ive bled system, thermostats new, water pump was changed and appears to be pumpin
 doesnt leak
im thinkin its head gasket, car does use a lil water after a while.
if u drive normally 80kph for 5 mins at least water cools, down and start operatin fine, but soon as u idle for awhile water temp goes nuts
ive got a aftermarket water guage
so it starts goin up to 120+ and beyond til i turn it off and fill it up again
then tends to get me round
wanna try get bit more out of this engine while i work my other, so wonderin of any fixes

Have you checked fans are coming on? seems like an airflow issue given that it occurs when you are stationary.
the losing coolant could be as simple as a dodgy radiator cap. I had all kinds of issues when i went turbo with overheating etc and it was just the cap which decided to bugger itself coincidentally at the same time...

quick question, how did you force fans on? my always go on and off :\

turn the ac on, shud turn em on

you cant force the fans on, they only come on when the a/c is on.

they also turn on, when the water hits certain temp

yeh radiator cap could be the problem, even hairline fractures can cause the cap to not function properly.
You said you bled the system which suggests there shouldnt be any trapped air.

could be a blown head gasket.
to test this take your radiator cap off start the engine and watch for bubbles.
dont be fooled by a few bubbles here and there. if the gasket is blown the bubbles will constantly keep coming.

ohh forgot to mention - another way of checking if gasket is blown is to check your dipstick, it will have a milky coloured look to it.

ill give the cap a go
but yeh dont wanna bust myself too much on it cuz got my other engine wantin to go in
but yeh, when i over heat i just open cap slowly, fill more water then it continues for a while(i dont fill that much water that it overheatin cuz of that, it overheats even when its full), guess that my remedy for a bit haha
