also getting my springs installed wednesday.

and my insurance just expired today. havent renewed it yet cause i dont need the car anymore except for weekends (new job is 12 mins away from home via bus lol)

i just spent all night looking at policies to buy. i can lie and buy bingle.com for $660 (using uncle's name, and no mods) or i can list new mods (bodykit + suspension) and pay $960 (still using uncle's name) but then i figured if im going to lie about the driver, really, im only covered on theft and vandalism (unless they allow u to claim for under 25 yrs old even if u didnt list them as a driver, cause it could have been a one time thing) so really, no point in listing mods right?

gargh, installing mods just opened a whole new can worms for me...cant decide which route to go. St george's insurance actually lets u state the value of the mods you have, i put $1000 as the mod's value to replace (cause if i have an accident, i dont mind reverting back to stock anyway, if its third party, then they will replace it for me anyway) and they only charged me $15 extra premium.

but really, the different between fessing up about mods or not is like $350 premium
and it really comes down to whether a) they void claims if u dont tell them, b) cause i dont want the mods to contribute to value of car anyway, so dont wanna pay margin for it
Lol i know it's a chick's car but fk me it's a fun car to drive - takes corners so damn quick! besides if i was to get it i wouldn't pay for all of it coz my mum n sister will need to use it too lol...

speaking of insurance...mine came the other day...$630 under my dad's name lol =_=...it was $550 last time!...bastards are making money from the floods =\

got the edfc kit for teins ss damper kit for my cu2...

question is where would be the best place to locate the edfc control unit itself while blending it the best way possible with the dash itself...

lol in that case, if itll come cheap then get it! lol

how are u getting $630??? who are u with? what happens if u get into an accident? unless u negotiate with the other party to not call the cops and to arrange to claim it under ur dads name, then ur excess is gunna be like 1.4k

will you (or any of you guys here) claim any of the mods you have on ur insurance? i dont really want to pay for having mods that i wont bother replacing if i crash. and if i think that i shudnt report having mods thinking i wont crash....well why buy insurance at all in the first place you know lol

Yesterday (night, sorry for the dark pics)

about 2-3 finger (fingers stacked side by side) height in the gaps
note the height difference between the sideview mirrors of my car and my mums

    And then...
    Today!

cant even fit one finger in that gap! (it looks like theres a space, but the tyres are tapered at the edges, so when u go stick ur finger inside, the tyre is actually inside the wheel arches)

(will post before and after comparison of back once i have pics taken from same angle. the only one i have atm is one with the mugen rear lip...which blocks the view of wheels completely before springs lol!)

Tein SS tech - $305usd shipped
install: 4 hours labour - $280 (incl wheel alignment - will have to go back after a few hundred kms for springs to settle in)

atm there seems to be one positive and one negative camber wheel on each side of the back wheels :S
    Left and right

the moment i got in the car, i was like "Whaooo! i can Pheeell eet! its lower!"
i wasnt after the whole crazy slammed look. just wanted to close the gap between the wheel arches, which made the car look fugly. The teins went beyond my expectations!

i used to be able to see the black springs from under or side on from the car. But cant anymore lol. for once i wanted to show off the green coloured springs lol at the irony.
I can only see it this way

still need to adjust the headlights later.

Welcome to the DUMPED euro crew fury. Looks much more nicer than mine only because your tyres are a lower profile due to the luxury wheels. I have the base model euro which means I have the smaller standard 17 inch wheels. But gotta love the tein s techs. Like Andrew (nester jester) said to me earlier in the thread when I dumped my euro. "makes you think: how the hell was I driving around without em?!" very good photos fury. Looking forward to more mods hehe.

yeh youre exactly right! even tho i felt every single bump on the way home today. the feeling and handlin, made me wonder why i didnt do it sooner.

even my gf, the most cynical car person who i was expecting to say "what did u spend $600 on? i dont see any difference" said "wow it looks cool, like a coupe...which i like!"
haha, still clueless, but i got a reaction out of her for once, which is good. waiting on mechanics to book in a time for bodykit

i went to get another quote just now for car + spoiler + fullbodykit + suspension mods - $918 LOL , same insurance company (GIO) wtfness. bought it straight away! next time not renewing my insurance, but waiting a week and requoting lol

Haha, I'm with AAMI, funny thing though. I called them up yesterday -> using my PROas convincing skills (no not really) I got them to drop it down to $570 or $580 (I forgot lol) . But my excess went up to $650 (Under 22yrs) plus I think the $500 (usual) on top of that. So $1150 all up if I crashed into someone lol

looks kool............how much is the kit including the suspension itself?

Thinking about it though - I think these kits are used for highly tuned race cars where they can give immediate feedback for ontrack suspension setup/tunning.

On the streets...........softest to hardest wouldn't be that wide enough a gap would it?

The kit with suspension shipped was just under $1600. Even the suppliers at Fulcrum could not believe it.

Anyway, got a really good installer to put it on. But the motor that came with the kit for the rear coilovers were a problem. Some minor mod need to be done to get it to fit and work without it banging on the rear seat frame underside of parcel shelf.

But was worth it. Had it corner weighed, balanced and alligned and the works. Apart from installing the coilovers the edfc kit was the hardest to install and took the longest. Would need a really good installer to install it.

Soft is just a tiny bit harder than factory but without the rolling of the car. I like hardest but would not use for too long. So far it has not settled yet and will bring the car back for a free tune and check in 3 months or 5000kms time.
