the freakin oil filter did my head in though!!

think i'm gonna have to buy a wrench for it..anybody know a good oil filter wrench????
Friggen tell me about it, previous place that serviced my car last (when it wasn't under my ownership) monkey wrenched the damn oil filter on and it took me about half an hour to take it off. In the end i just owned it with a set of big jaw pliers.

    Ended up looking like this.

Generally most oil filter wrenches/straps will do the job ok providing the previous filter was installed properly (ie. hand tightened). For the more complicated ones like mine, you should look at getting this

Should do most jobs sweet. I'm running a HAMP filter as well, oem ftw.

Jamie, never serviced your own car? Learn to. Trust me, it will help in the long run. Simple sh*t like oils, filters, plugs etc is very easy. If you need help just gimme a yell. Invest in a good set of tools as well if you havn't already, makes any job that much easier.

yeah, i think i'd be really interested in it, prefer to have work on my car done by myself

will do dude! same to you, for the limited knowledge i have haha.

on a $10 budget from now till about 2 months on, saving for bike, will do minor diy on car, but if i pass my p's, more just driving and maintaining till i get bike

p.s i remember laughing so hard at that oil filter post on jdmst. LOL

If your having trouble getting your oil filter off, get some sand paper wrap it around the filter and turn really hard. Works for me
