So much confusion with speaker size for FD2. What size are the fronts and rear? Can 6.5" fit without modifying the car door? Searched but couldnt find anyone with a definite answer.Any help is appreciated. Thanks

6.5" but you have to have a spacer in between to clear the bigger magnet in the hole, some filing is needed too

Thanks Stig. And the spacers and filings are something you can just buy right? So no need to do cutting or mods on the car door itself? What about 6"? Will they just sit in perfectly? Any noticable difference other than size?

spacers you can make out of MDF yourself, what I did was cut my stock speakers out and use the frame to mount my aftermarket ones on (cos i didnt want to drill new holes into the door), but i found out the new speaker cone was to big for the hole so i had to file the hole and made it slightly bigger.
if you used a thicker spacer it might solve this problem, but you might find it hard to put the door trim back in, so what i also did was cut the plastic on the door trim which encloses the speaker, you'll understand what i mean when you give it a shot yourself

cool. Just dont want it to be super complex. You mean cutting the plastic grill circle so the aftermarket speaker sticks out?
Now to start getting the parts together. BTW, do you have a secondary battery? Or a 450 is enough?
